Compare those three websites

After compare those three websites, I think those three articles shows a similar main ideal . That is computer does not always benefit people with it's result. In the first article "Eli Pariser: Beware online "filter bubbles",it shows people always get news and result from what they interested ,because the computer already know what you like to visit. According to the article, " Eli Pariser argues powerfully that this will ultimately prove to be bad for us and bad for democracy." In other words, sometimes network has bad influences of our lives. In the second article, "Mind Control & the Internet" by Sue Halpern. the author shows a fact in the article, that is two people search the same word in the same searching tool, and they compare the result they get, the result is so much difference. As we could see many other websites has do the same thing, only show us the things people are interest in. Similar to the third article,"Clive Thompson on High-Bandwidth Buddies" by Clive Thompson point out a friend only tell people something about him instead of the whole thing just like the searching tool does to us. In conclusion, people has always to see both sides of a thing, not only focus on  what you interested in.

The Obama Campaign's Use of Social Networking Tools

Computer becomes more and more popular in our social lives. I believe that not only Mr. Obama use the computer in the campaign, there must have many other candidates doing the same thing. According to the article,by the benefits of using computer,Mr. Obama creates his own website first, then he sends text to youngsters, and the last he posts his speech video on the YouTube which help him win the campaign.

I think Mr.Obama is the most successful person who use the social networking sites to help with his election. Firstly. he creates his  own office site to help the voter to register to donate money as a volunteer. That website is very easy to access and also help people with voting. Secondly, Obama find out that younger generation who are under 25 years old texting messages with friends more than use computer. So, he sends out a message with 160 characters to point out what everybody should be. the article also mentions that, "A music video set to an Obama speech- " Yes We can," by the hip-hop artist Will.i.am it has been posted repeatedly on You Tube , but the top two postings alone have been views 10 million times." it means people  can know him and understand him more clearly from the video.

In conclusion, I believe that the social network really help Mr.Obama to win the campaign, because his own website page helps voter get more easy to vote, and also let people to understand and trust him from those messages he sends, and the video in You tube.

Growing Up Online

After I read "Growing Up Online" in the PBS presentation, I have a lot of opinions about this topic. On the one hand, I think computer is very useful and helpful in our social lives. because it helps people to make friends, and also change their personality. According to the "Growing Up Online","Autumn tells FRONTLINE,I just became this whole different person,I didn't feel like myself, but I liked the fact that I didn't feel like myself. I felt like someone completely different. I felt like I was famous." In another words, network makes she become more confident. So, I believe that computer is useful and helpful, it helps people to make friends, and also change their character.

On the other hand, some people think that computer affects people in a negative way, because it makes teenagers spend too much times on it, and forget the ability of reading a book. I have remember in the video a boy said that, " I have not read a book long time." the reason is he just find a summary of the book online. This shows that teenagers overuse of the computer, and lose the reading ability.

In conclusion, I think computer is like a double-sided knife, depend on how people use it and what they use it for. we can take the advantage of the advanced technology to help us work things out and use them in a more properly way.
